Beauty Is Only Skin Deep

Over a decade ago, I recall having breakfast at a Marie Callender’s. I had a very good waitress who was also very beautiful. An elderly couple sat at a table that was near mine. My waitress was also theirs. The restaurant was pretty crowded but my food arrived in a short amount of time. While I was eating, the waitress brought the couple what they had ordered. The lady politely asked for her omelette to cook longer where it was folded around its inner contents. The waitress stated that the omelette was not undercooked and that it was normal for it to appear as it did around its inner contents. The lady still requested that her order go back to the kitchen for some more cooking. The waitress took the dish back to the kitchen and screamed, “She said it’s runny and she won’t eat it!” The lady did not appear to be insulted and ended up chuckling. Beauty Is Only Skin Deep (1966), by the Temptations, makes me think of that beautiful waitress. Listen and learn.

The Beautiful Ones

My perception of the beautiful ones has evolved since its inception. The beautiful ones used to be on television and the silver screen. Now, they are the ones whom I see in everyday life. Physical beauty does not decide if someone is beautiful. Look for the beauty that does not fade. The beautiful ones will remain beautiful. Prince’s The Beautiful Ones (1984) is almost beautiful beyond belief. Believe me.
