The Running Man
I run for the future but flee from the past. My running is slow and the future is fast. I am a runner who seeks to be free. I chase the future and the past chases me. I am serving my sentence for a horrible crime. I was framed by my soul and I am doing the hard time. I am in debt but do not even owe. I beg for a pardon but my past keeps saying no. I doubt that the future will ever be mine. If my past had been kind then all would be fine. I run from the past because it has great pain. I run for the future for my chance to be sane. I will run for the future even with my last breath. I will never be stopped unless tripped up by death.
