Love Is Not For Sale

Money can’t buy us love. This is unfortunate because love is such a good investment. Money brought human beings more order and chaos. It is not the root of all evil but it is a necessary evil. If money can’t buy love, then it should not be able to buy souls. Blackstreet’s (Money Can’t) Buy Me Love (1996) is a cover version of the Beatles’ Can’t Buy Me Love (1964). I love the cover but cannot stand the original. Both songs relate the same message. Let it sink in.

Put Your Cards On The Table

Asking for hair is like asking for money–your luck is much better when you give a good reason.

The Blues

I own one pair of shoes. I use public transportation and do not have a car. I don’t even have a television. I do all of my clothes shopping at a chain of discount stores (the same retailer that I bought my one pair of shoes from). I have never had much of a taste for luxury. I would rather stay home than travel. Home is a small one-bedroom apartment. It’s easy to keep clean. I do enjoy having a smartphone but the rest of my desires (aside from those for Heart In Diamonds) are pretty much for the basics. If you gave me a car, I would sell it. I like how I am. I know what it is like to be destitute. I was almost living on the streets about a decade ago. Gold diggers are after the security and luxuries that money can provide. It is easy to understand why. However, it is wrong to use someone else in order to live the good life. The Blues (1990), by Tony! Toni! Toné!, expresses the frustration that gold diggers often bring their victims. I listen to it from time to time in my small one-bedroom apartment after I have taken off my one pair of shoes.
