It (2017) disappointed me. No horror film should base most of its thrills on silly decisions that characters are too smart to make. You end up with a ridiculous work that mature audiences should be too smart to become emotionally involved in. It is a terrible horror movie. Great acting and witty dialogue were the only things that kept me awake. Poltergeist II: The Other Side (1986) is one of my favorite horror films. Julian Beck’s brilliant performance as Rev. Henry Kane dominates the entire picture despite the fact that he is barely in it. He sends chills like no actor I have ever come across. This film was never accorded the critical acclaim it deserved. It has garnered rave reviews. You figure it out.
