Nothing Lasts Forever

My seventh grade teacher once said that she never knew of a family that was not dysfunctional. I do not accept that dysfunction pervades all of our relationships. The absence of perfection should not necessarily be regarded as dysfunction. Imperfection and dysfunction are not synonyms. Nothing Lasts Forever (2007), by Maroon 5, is a dysfunctional love song. Love can be destructive. If love cannot be healthy, it should ultimately expire. I hear this logic when I listen to this song. I see this logic when I look at life.
