One who has integrity does the right thing not to avoid punishment nor for an immediate or distant reward. One does the right thing because this is what one wants to do. Integrity involves intelligence. A lot of people do what they believe is the right thing but have a distorted view of what constitutes the right thing to do. One must be intelligent enough to know what is ultimately the right thing to do before acting (or thinking). Integrity involves our thoughts as well as our actions.
It is important to remember that integrity allows for some mistakes. Our thoughts and even our actions can conflict with our integrity due to fear and other forces that we must deal with. Having integrity does not mean that we have to be perfect. What kinds of mistakes are applicable and how many of them are allowed? What are you asking me for? I am just a guy who writes a blog.
