Band Of Gold

Freda Payne’s Band Of Gold (1970) makes me want to grab a tambourine and hit it till either my hand hurts or the song finishes (whichever comes first). This song gives me a burst of energy. Freda Payne is so convincing that I often have to remind myself that I am listening to a song and not the actual account of a true story. Very few songs have this effect on me. This is the one that I like the most.
